Reading
Don’t let your child fool you! The standard reading homework for the school is to read for 20 minutes! Please let us know that this is happening by signing and/or having your child respond in his/her Reading folder about what they have read.

Reminders…
Please remember to check your child’s agenda and backpack every evening for important papers and homework that may need to be read and/or signed!

The second grade will be studying Butterflies and Moths and Geography of Americas in the months of April and May. We will start new units in Math such as:
Solids in Geometry, Fun with Fractions and Weights and Measures. We are planning two field trips for second grade, one is to Assateague Island on April 23 and the other is for visiting the Salisbury Zoo in May. We will send information as we get closer to these dates. Please encourage and support your child in completing his or her homework nightly in Reading and Math and reviewing their math facts. Each concept builds upon another, therefore, we want to reinforce each concept through the homework practices. Please check to see that your child has crayons and pencils for the rest of the school year. In addition, our goal in second grade is to have the best attendance rate for the school. Parents, we need your help for making this goal possible. Help your child to be ready and prepared for each day.
Thank you for your continued support!
