Our Kindergarteners are “Buggy About Spring.” They are on the lookout for bugs, birds, and flowers as they learn about spring. As the children learn about and search for signs of spring where they live, they will continue to learn about the cyclic of the seasons. The warmer weather allows many opportunities for children to blossom as they examine, and learn to respect and appreciate the ever-changing natural world within their own neighborhoods. In an effort to ensure the success of each student, we have placed them into three reading groups. The children are assigned according to their individual need or abilities. We can not emphasize enough the importance of working and reading with your child at home every night. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. Near the end of the school year, every kindergartener will be assessed for placement in a first grade reading group. Our focus in Math is on addition, subtraction and money and its value. We will also concentrate on identifying equal parts of a whole and learning to tell time to the hour and half hour. We would like to thank you for your continued support in educating your child. Earlier in the school year, we learned “It Takes a Village’ to raise a child. We would like to wish everyone much success. Have a safe and happy summer! Mrs. Cook Mrs. Elliiott Ms. Foster |
