FROM THE MEDIA CENTER
I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome to Choptank Elementary School. I am settling into my position as Media Specialist.
Students in first and second grades have been discussing how to care for their books. They have been listening and responding to stories. Third grade have started the “Type to Learn” program. They are still working on finger placement on the keyboard. If they are on the computer at home, remind them that all their fingers need to be on the keyboard. Third graders have been also working on the parts of the library. Fourth and fifth grade students have been studying how books are organized on the shelves and why it is important. These students have also been using the “Type to Learn” program”, as well as using the Internet.
In November be looking for a letter informing you about a reading challenge sponsored by the Media Center. This challenge is open to all students. I’m hoping that everyone will be up to the challenge.
Mrs. Susan Shimek
