Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Choptank students, staff, parents and caregivers!  Because of your efforts, Choptank students come to school every day prepared, ready to learn and ready to follow the STARS and our 3 R’s to SUCCESS!  Parents, ask your child what the STARS and the 3 R’S to SUCCESS stand for at CES.

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Fitzgerald’s second grade homeroom class for having the highest attendance percentage for the month of September.  All of Mrs. Fitzgerald’s students attended school 16 out of 18 school days during the month of September for a whopping 89% perfect attendance.  These students were rewarded for their conscientious efforts.

Congratulations also go to Mrs. Sorrell’s Pre-Kindergarten class for having the highest percentage of returned homework for the month of September.  Every student returned homework every night in the month of September!! These studious students were also rewarded for their efforts!

Lastly, we would like to thank you, the parents, again for all you do.  Please continue to attend parent conferences (one teacher met with every parent in her first grade class except for one), sign the agenda each night, stay in contact with your child’s teacher either by phone, through using the agenda, or e-mail.  Remember, by working together and staying involved in the education process, our students will continue to be the best in Dorchester County!

FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE

FROM MRS. RUARK

 AND

MRS. PINKETT

Please do not  send ill children to school to “get checked by the school nurse.”  This exposes others to the illness when your child would be much more comfortable at home.  Please call a physician, if you have concerns about an ill child.  It is a good idea to plan now, for when your son or daughter becomes ill and should not go to school.

Does your child have ASTHMA or OTHER chronic health CONCERNS?  If’ “yes”, then please contact your  child’s health care provider about getting a flu shot for your son or daughter.  Also, please be sure the school nurse has all the medications and treatment supplies your child may need during school (and the doctor’s orders for each).

GOOD HANDWASHING HELPS PREVENT THE SPREAD OF ILLNESSES.  Please encourage your family to wash hands often, especially after using the toilet, coughing, sneezing, or blowing the nose, playing with pets, and before eating.
